Review for the whole series

I liked the art a lot. Every panel looks and feels like it was painstakingly drawn. I can see how Berserk shaped the manga industry as a whole.

Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the story. Griffith is practically a god in the later volumes. What’s the point of anything if you have such an overpowered villain? It’s not even like superman. He literally doesn’t have any weaknesses. Every action …Read More

i really enjoyed the slow pace of this book, to the point where my biggest disappointment was that the ending felt a bit rushed in comparison with the rest of the story.

The way MC2 (the older MC, Lawson) treats MC1 pisses me off.

MC1, a stripper who is deeply concerned about having enough material possessions because of a rough childhood, undergoes a lot of character development and sacrifices a lot by the end of the book. And at 96%, this is how MC2 is thinking of him. (Note that Ms. Cluck, who MC1 (Opie) considers a pet, has been established as the stupidest chicken on the ranch.)

It’s very “message”y. You see the writer’s hand, feel the themes being handed to you, and wish for more realness. Feels like it’s written for BookTok—lots of highlights, very quotable, not super lived-in.

The best Age Gap book I read until now, the chemistry between Jordan and Pike was real. Could not put the book down.

A very nice Hockey Romance. From all fake dating Tropes this one is the best i read until now. The characters were fun and Rory is one of my favorite MMCs.

Unfortunately, I could not finish the book. I was excitesd to read a new MM Romance from this author as I gave 5 start to "God of Fury". One of my main critiques of this book is the overwhelming amount of narration, which leans heavily into “telling” rather than “showing.”Garreth's character in particular is where the story falters for many readers. While the author clearly wants him to be a strong, multifaceted protagonist, …Read More

This was pretty good! I don't love fated mates, which this one skirted quite close to (without ever saying those words), but I thought the way that was handled was interesting - it examined that trope through a more skeptical lens, so the way the relationship eventually ended up felt more natural to me.

Orgasmic blood drinking always gets me, and there is a lot of it. The author knows why you're reading this book and leans th …Read More

For the first half I thought I'd be giving this a solid 4/5, but I struggled to even finish.

The most compelling part of this book was the developing relationship between the MCs, which is put on hold for a lot of plot-related stuff that I couldn't bring myself to care about. The plot never seemed to really matter; it felt tacked on, with a lot of random side characters thrown in that just feel like jokes. And the main charac …Read More

I'm just too dumb to understand Shakespeare style romance. I'd rather shit on my hands and clap than ever believe people falling in loving at first sight! Wake up! It's lust at first sight! And how did I go living so many years without ever knowing that they die?!?! But I'm down bad for the articulate and poetic writing though

Man. I could not love these books more.

I was worried the third book in a trilogy, in which the characters are already in an established relationship, would be boring - but Subtle Blood has a strong, interesting plot, and once things got moving (which was quite early on) I wasn't bored for a second. I just love these two so much, how they work together and complement each other. It's wonderful to see their relationship devel …Read More

Wish it was longer and there was more introspection, but it was a lot of fun (and genuinely very creepy at times.... The hair scene was like something straight out of a horror story). I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series.
