Mar 18Unfortunately, I could not finish the book. I was excitesd to read a new MM Romance from this author as I gave 5 start to "God of Fury". One of my main critiques of this book is the overwhelming amount of narration, which leans heavily into “telling” rather than “showing.”Garreth's character in particular is where the story falters for many readers. While the author clearly wants him to be a strong, multifaceted protagonist, his constant self-praise and “telling” us about his abilities can be grating rather than compelling. Readers are left with the sense that they’re being told how great he is, rather than experiencing his greatness through his actions or choices.

I couldn't finish it either. This story felt so soulless, too. No emotions were inspired, I couldn't care less about the protagonists 🤷🏼♀️
