This was pretty good! I don't love fated mates, which this one skirted quite close to (without ever saying those words), but I thought the way that was handled was interesting - it examined that trope through a more skeptical lens, so the way the relationship eventually ended up felt more natural to me.

While reading it, I felt it was repetitive and slow, and I almost DNF'ed. However, after finishing it, I admired what it was trying to do and found myself going back to reread/skim portions.

There is a twist in the last 5% that changes how the reader views the entire story. I appreciated what the author did with perspective and point of view - the entire narration is skewed by the MC's biases and assumptions, and so the sin …Read More
