I listened to the audio version. This might be my favourite Alexander Cendese's performance so far. He just shines in these himbo roles.
I kinda expected goofy shenanigans and the usual fluff going in, but this story hit me with hidden identity, surprising amount of longing, overlooked-side-characters-turned-main-characters and an actual heated couple's fight complete with tears in my fluffy Sadenverse books? I love it.

I like the initial living in the beetle part more than the romance.
I like the initial living in the beetle part more than the romance.
I like rivals-to-lovers. I like MCs who start off hating each other. I like the tension.
So the first 40% of the book is right up my alley with the two MCs competing and antagonizing each other.
But then around halfway the relationship starts becoming sweeter and more romantic, and I start to get bored. I'm a sucker for tense relationship, and I wish the MCs had stayed antagonistic for another 20%-30%

The accent used was a bit much lol. Cendese has a very specific range of tone/voice that he’s good at, and I usually don’t buy it when he strays from that range.
I like the story and the couple. Lots of fluff. Low angst and low conflict between the couple. A substantial amount of family and kid drama.
