It was short. Real short. The kinda short that makes a lady unhappy when you take down your pants and she’s expecting a king sized Snickers bar and you’re packing a fun size single Kit-Kat.
Harlan Ellison was crazy. A true legend. Honestly I had never read this story until now. I had remembered the drama around the movie, In Time. Allegedly, that film store from this book. It was a crock of shit, and it ended with Ellison ending his lawsuit after seeing the movie.
I saw a few minutes of the movie. It was pretty dumb. Cool concept, but dumb movie. The book has very little to do with the movie. They both have Timekeepers, so whatever.
I had fun imagining this guy running around yelling at people to slow down, to cause a ruckus. It was short. We don’t know why everyone is like how they are. The reason they have to be kept in line is pretty gruesome. The part where it talks about how the ticktock man is able to buzz them from anywhere and stop their hearts and dry the blood from inside someone is such a hardcore way to go.
I thought I had heard the book had been written in a weird way. Like it was just one long sentence or no punctuation marks. It seemed like a regular story to me overall.
It was solid. I enjoyed it, but I don’t think I’d come back and party with the jellybean jester anytime soon.
