Review by Sean Penn: writer, actor, world stage
20hWhat an odd book. Firstly, I’m not a friend of the bug. I’m not sure why this exists other than as a sequel of sorts to the musical. It’d probably mean more if I would have seen the play.
So many odd choices. Having it take place in the real world vs Oz was…. Definitely a choice.
Unlike the last Oz book this reads like a book from the turn of the 20 century. I was disappointed and surprised by the slurs in this. Didn’t expect that, and it was disappointing to see.
