Swordcrossed

Review by Charlemagne

Swordcrossed

Freya is simply marvellous at world building. Theres so many details just peppered in to make the fantasy world so real without being overwhelming or boring with details - i found myself hungry for information as I read. All the gods and the world built around guilds and trades was something I have missed from recent fantasy novels, it made the society feel so alive.

I had seen spoilers before I started reading so a lot of things weren't a surprise but the build up and sprinkle of suggestions to things to come made this book hard to stop because I kept wanting to get to the conclusion. Not to mention Matti and Luca craving each other physically the longer they spent together before feeling something more. I like when the romance is physical before it becomes emotional or they realise emotional after physical interactions - its the little oh! (or oh no!) moments the characters have.

I would love to see new characters in this world again one day soon, or even some short stories of Luca and Matti to tidy up what they do with their houses now that everything is "sorted out".
