Review by Sean Penn: writer, actor, world stage
SunBoring.
There’s some fun moments, I loved the chicken and The Wheelers are iconic. But there’s something missing in this book.
I really enjoyed the 2nd book a lot more even though I got tired of the Wuggle-Bug. Honestly, the two page cameo of Jinjur lifted my spirits. That was an interesting character, and that weirdness and tenacity was missing in this book.
The Nome King and the Queen with the heads were such a disappointment. I felt that they ate up so much time and ultimately didn’t do anything for me story wise.
I hated the tiger. Always chomping at the bits. Give me more saw-horse or bring back Jack. Or the gump. The gump kinda sucked and he was better than most of the stuff in this book.
TikTok! In-fur-I-ating I fucking could not stand this bulbous monstrosity and it’d br-o-Ken way of speaking. Simply a chore to get through.
This might be where I get off for now reading the Wizard of Oz for now.
