Loved it. I honestly loved it. This book cracked me up, and it also made me cry. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like Beau or Shelly going into this book, since Beau comes off so perfect in Truth or Beard. He showed depth of character in Beard Science, so I had hope. But I really wasn't sure how Penny Reid could make Shelly into a heroine worth rooting for, but she did it. The split between Beau's POV being the primary POV and Shelly's being interspersed throughout I thought wasn't the best choice. I wish they were split more evenly. The twist was something I called from the outset, but I liked how it was handled. I loved how this book overlapped with Beard Science, and truly believe for optimal reading pleasure they should be read in tandem. Beau is sympathetic, and great, and just as charming as one could hope. As usual, Cletus' actions, and the interactions with him, were some of my favorite moments. But I found myself laughing at Shelly's words a lot, and Beau too.
